Journey of the Goo
This was the capstone project I worked on during my final year at DePaul University. It was a team of 12 people with me taking on the role of level designer. I also did all the sequence work in the project, making all the cutscenes that play before some of the levels and at the end of them.

Our brainstorming had 2 ideas we brought up to start with. The first was a horror game and the other was a 3D platformer. Since most of us have done a ton of horror games up to that point, we decided on the 3D platformer.



Right at the start, I knew I wanted the game to feel like Portal created by Valve, due to the idea of escaping from a lab appealing to all of us. These images show those early ideas of these puzzle rooms that the player would have to traverse.
Creation of the Tutorial Level
These are some pictures of the tutorial level through development.
As seen here, the tutorial was built off several room puzzles showcasing mechanics that would be used throughout the game.
